Why Isn’t Anyone Buying?
Stop Guessing What Your Customers Want
One week your cake shed is busy. The next it’s quiet and you don’t know why.
You start second-guessing everything — your products, your pricing, even whether people still want what you’re making.
But the problem usually isn’t your baking. It’s that you’re not getting clear feedback from your customers.
If you’ve ever stood there wondering:
-
Why did that new product not sell?
-
Why do customers only buy the same things every week?
-
Why was last week busy but this week quiet?
-
What do my customers actually actually want?
You’re not alone.
Most cake shed owners are running brilliant little businesses… but making decisions in the dark.
We see what sells.
We see what doesn’t.
But we rarely get to hear the why.
And without the why, we end up guessing.
The problem with guessing
When sales dip or new products don’t land, it’s easy to assume:
-
the product wasn’t good enough
-
people aren’t interested anymore
-
competition is stronger
-
we need to post more / bake more / do more
But often the real issue is simpler:
Your customers haven’t been given a structured way to tell you what they think.
They’re buying (or not buying), but you’re not getting the feedback that explains it.
A real example
I recently spent time talking to a customer who had driven ten miles past other sheds to collect a couple of cookies from me.
During our chat she told me my lemon crumble bars were “incredible”.
Not the fancy, Instagram-friendly products.
Not the ones I assumed would be bestsellers.
That conversation made me realise something important:
We often judge our products by sales alone… but sales don’t always tell the full story.
Sometimes customers love things they’re just not regularly choosing.
Sometimes they need a reason to try them.
Sometimes we’re simply not asking.
The solution: stop guessing, start asking
In this live workshop, I’ll show you a simple customer feedback system I’ve been testing in my own cake shed.
It’s designed to help you:
-
Understand what customers actually think of your products
-
Identify your real bestsellers (not just assumed ones)
-
Encourage customers to try new products
-
Collect useful feedback without complicated tech
-
Make decisions based on evidence, not guesswork
No marketing jargon.
No overwhelm.
No complicated systems.
Just a simple, repeatable process you can use in your own shed.
Designed by a home baker and cake shed owner who gets it. And has been there.
What you’ll receive
This is a completely turnkey system.
You will not need to design anything from scratch.
Just plug in your products, tweak a few details, and run it. And then focus on your baking!
You’ll get ready-to-use templates you can copy, tweak and use immediately:
-
Campaign Planner (so you know exactly what you’re testing and why)
-
Customer Feedback Form structure (Google Form ready to copy)
-
Printable Insert Card (Canva template with QR code space)
-
Launch Post Template (to promote your test box or bag)
-
Results Tracker (so you can see what’s actually working)
-
Terms and Conditions template if you want to run the test as a competition - customers love to win things!
