Whether you've booked with The Ladybird Cakery before or if you're a new customer, here are a few tips to help make you placing your order go as smoothly as possible:
Lead time
For large cakes and intricate fondant-topped cupcakes, we require a minimum of two weeks notice. We are a small business and do not keep large stocks of products and may therefore need to place an order for consumables for your cake. Equally, we use a number of small suppliers for some of our custom items such as cake toppers and these business often have lead times of 10 working days. Occasionally we may be able to accommodate short notice orders but there will be an additional charge for any items ordered by special delivery. Buttercream cupcakes and bouquets can usually be delivered with five days notice.
Design
It really helps if you have an idea of design when you require - this may be a theme, a favourite colour or a favourite pastime. Give us as much detail as possible. If you have pictures that help, please share them. We are unable, however, to replicate other cake artists work exactly. Your quote will outline the details of the design - please ensure if there are specific elements you require that they are clearly detailed in the quote. Payment of the booking fee means you have accepted the details on the quote.

Serving size
How many people are coming to your party? And how much cake do you want to have left over for when those middle-of-the-night munchies hit? Read our portion guide and this useful blog post about cake depths for more help.
Our large cakes are from 6" round upwards (serves 12-16) and our cupcakes can be ordered in batches of six or more. Cupcake bouquets come in specific sizes to allow for the design to be shaped correctly - see our bouquet guide for more details.
Price
Every order is unique and baked to order. We have a basic price list here to help you estimate the cost of your cake. Please take time to review this list before booking.
Payments
All orders require a booking fee to be paid to reserve the date. The balance must be paid seven days prior to collection/delivery. All payments must be paid by BACS unless otherwise agreed in writing. Details will be provided on your quote.
